Inaugurated On
On 30th July,1968,the College was formally inaugurated by the then Minister for Education Dr.Navalar V.R.Nedunchezhiyan.
In the next year itself
The College was upgraded as a first grade college with the introduction of B.A. Economics and B.Sc. Mathemathics.

The college has been ranked 57th in the country by National Institute Ranking Framework(NIRK) in 2018.
